F.E.T.C.H. Goldendoodles

F.E.T.C.H. Goldendoodles are different than most all others...while most all others breed a Golden Retriever female to a Poodle male, we breed a female Standard Poodle to a male Golden Retriever.  As a result, the offspring's coast have taken the characteristics of the Standard Poodle coat with no shedding!!!

HOW IT WORKS...All puppies will start socializing and learning from the day they are born, so they will have been taught some basic obedience, as well as potty training and use of doggie door.  At 8 to 10 weeks of age, an evaluation/temperment test will be done on the litter to decide which pups will continue service dog training.  Any remaining puppies will be sold as family pets.  Pick of these remaining pups will be in order of $100 deposit received.  To secure one of the pups and be put on the waiting list, call Tiffani at 805.588.0232 or email fetchtiffk9@yahoo.com.

We currently do not have any pup or adult dogs for sale as service or pet dogs.  The next planned breeding will be in approximately one year (Summer 2009).  To be placed on our waiting list to receive one of the pups from the next litter, please email Tiffani at fetchtiffk9@yahoo.com

Inki 9 months of age

Goldendoodles are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle.  Goldendoodles are a hybrid dog, a first generation cross, and as such, exhibit "hybrid vigor".  This phenomenon refers to the fact that the first cross between two unrelated purebred lines is healthier and grows better than either parent line.  The puppies take on the best traits of both breeds.  The hybrid cross between the two breeds are terrific family dogs, friendly, intelligent, affectionate and easy to train.

*Predictable offspring can only be obtained in 1st generation hybrids.  Second-generation hybrids can have an unpredictable variety of traits tending anywhere from one purebred ancestor to the other purebred ancestor, due to the greater number of gene combinations that are produced.

DESCRIPTION - The  physical appearance of the Goldendoodle runs anywhere from a shaggy-looking retriever to a curl-relaxed poodle, but usually falls somewhere in the middle.

COLORS - Depending on the color of the parents, the variance is wide but in general, either golden blonde or black.

COAT - Goldendoodles will inherit fur that looks retriever-like or poodle-like but usually something in between.  Like many poodle crosses, many Goldendoodles don't shed or shed lightly and could be considered hypo-allergenic.  While there is no iron-clad guarantee, the coat typically has a low propensity for shedding.  Unlike the coat of a purebred Golden Retriever, the coat usually grows in the same way that a poodle does and therefore requires periodic grooming.

TEMPERAMENT - Goldendoodles are an intelligent and obedient family companion.  They are everybody's best friend and devoted to their family.  They are friendly towards children, other dogs and pets and easy with strangers.  They are social, affectionate dogs who are happiest when with people.  Their intelligence, eagerness to please, easy disposition and love of learning make them easy to train.

HEIGHT - Males: 21-24 inches   Females: 20-22 inches

WEIGHT - Males: 55-75 pounds  Females: 45-65 pounds

HEALTH ISSUES - Generally very healthy, the vigor instilled through the cross makes them less prone to the ailments that afflict the parent breeds, namely the hip dysplasia that can be seen in many Golden Retrievers. As a hybrid cross, they can grow healthier and live longer than either parent line.

LIFE EXPECTANCY - 12 to 15 years

GROOMING - Regular brushing is important, particularly behind the ears, hindquarters and beneath the shoulders.  Professional grooming is recommended 4 times a year.

EXERCISE - Require a moderate amount of daily exercise.  The Retriever in them allows them to enjoy games that involve retrieving.

To secure one of our dogs, either for a companion (pet) or service dog, a completed application and non-refundable deposit ($100 for pet and $500 for service dogs) is required.  Please contact Tiffani at fetchtiffk9@yahoo.com or via phone at 805.588.0232.
